We're very sad to report that Elisabeth Sladen, the brilliant actress who played Sarah Jane in Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures, has died at the age of 63. She had been ill with cancer for some time.
Elisabeth originally played Sarah Jane in Doctor Who back in the 1970s, but you probably saw her for the first time with David Tennant in the episode School Reunion, or when her character got her own show on CBBC in 2007.
Matt Smith, who plays the Doctor, starred in an episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures with Elisabeth last year. "What struck me about Lis was her grace," he said. "She welcomed me, educated me, and delighted me with her tales and adventures on Doctor Who."
Elisabeth was greatly loved by fans of Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures, and we will all miss her a lot.
