There's a festive feast of Doctor Who on telly over Christmas,
with loads of cool stuff for you to watch.
First up on Christmas Day is another chance to see Death of the
Doctor, the episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures where the gang
need the Doctor's help to defeat the beaky Shansheeth. It's on at
9am on BBC1 and BBC1HD.
Then it's the main event - the brand-new Doctor Who special, A
Christmas Carol. It's on BBC1 and BBC1 HD at 6pm. We've had a sneak
preview, and it's one of the best episodes yet - although if you're
scared of sharks, you should book your spot behind the sofa
now!
That's followed by a special episode of Doctor Who Confidential on
BBC3 at 7pm, featuring interviews with Matt Smith, Michael Gambon,
Katherine Jenkins and Steven Moffat, and a look at how the episode
was made.
There's a second chance to see A Christmas Carol and the
Confidential special on Boxing Day from 7pm on BBC3. Then, on
Wednesday 29 December at 1.35pm on BBC1, you can take a trip back
to David Tennant's time in the TARDIS for Voyage of the Damned,
where the Doctor has to stop the Titanic from crashing into Earth
on Christmas Day.
It's back to to Victorian England the following day for The Next
Doctor, where the Doctor meets Cybermen, Cybershades and a
mysterious man who also claims to be the Doctor. That's on BBC1 on
Thursday 30 December at 2.10pm on BBC1.
Next up is another showing of Planet of the Dead - the Doctor
finds himself on a desert world with a load of humans and a big red
bus on Friday 31 December at 1.10pm on BBC1.
It's an unhappy New Year for the Doctor as he prepares for The End
of Time on Saturday 1 January at 12.40pm on BBC1, with part 2 the
following day at 12.20pm.
Then you can round off the festive season with… A Christmas Carol
again! There's another showing of it at 4.10pm, Monday 3 January on
BBC1.
If you've got satellite or cable TV, keep an eye on Watch every
day for loads more classic Who episodes.
And if you're a fan of The Sarah Jane Adventures, make sure you're
watching the CBBC Channel on Thursday 30 December from 10am -
they're showing the whole of the most recent series, back-to-back -
that's more than three hours of solid SJA!
Don't forget to email us with what you think of the Christmas episode - send your messages to dwa@bbc.co.uk.
Happy Christmas!
